Learning Leadcore

Using Leadcore Line Can Catch You More Fish

One way to double your catch count involves using leadcore line.

Knowing some tips and tricks for this line type when it comes to Walleye fishing can help you increase both the number and the size of the fish you catch.

Leadcore line is special fishing line which as a core made from soft lead.

This makes the line stronger and more flexible than traditional fishing line. This line is used by experienced Walleye anglers to get better success with fish that are down in the depths.

One tip concerning leadcore line is to make sure the reel you use is the right one for the job. You should have a reel which can hold at least three hundred feet of the line, or at least ten colors worth so that you can get to the depth you need for the big fish.

Leadcore will allow you to use shallow water baits at much deeper depths than normal. The speed you are using is important with this line, and the slower you are going the deeper your bait and line will go.

This also offers the benefit of being able to make changes without having to pull your line up and then redo the entire setup. If you speed up some, your baits will come up in the water.

The faster you speed up, the higher up your baits will go. One tip that is helpful is to use a system which consists of a short lead which is attached to a swivel and the leader.

Even a small swivel can make a big difference when it comes to the effectiveness of leadcore.

Another tip is using Fireline as well, because this line does not stretch and is perfect for using with leadcore. There is no reason to worry about line stretch which could cost you a trophy Walleye.

One big tip when it comes to using leadcore is the fact that practice may be needed.

This line can be a great weapon in your arsenal to catch Walleye, but only if it is used correctly so that it is effective.

Practice will allow you to become comfortable using leadcore, and this is important for Walleye success.

Walleye Fishing Secrets Student Shares an Awesome Catch

"Andrew,

Here's a 25 inch walleye caught at Lake of the Woods, Ontario. The picture is a great memento for me.

I caught it drifting. We caught it amongst some smaller ones that ended up on the dinner table.

Your advice was helpful in making my trip successful. Thank you!"
