The walleye species is sensitive to light. However,
at the same time the fish is also attracted to the
shimmering of a lure that glows or is fluorescent.
Out on the water, look for things that aren’t
showing on a lake map such as rock formations,
depth fluctuations and other abnormalities that are
not readily obvious to all anglers.
Night fishing can
usually be bountiful in small patches of gravel that
appear close to weeds.
Keep an eye out for minnow formations during the
day. Usually you’ll find them near bay entrances.
If they’re there during the day, the walleyes will be
there for a late dinner that night.
When the weather is consistent, walleyes are very
predictable.
If you find them feeding at a certain
time, you can be sure they’ll be there the following
night around the same time.
Try live bait with a
variety of glow in the dark lures and prepare for a
feeding frenzy.
