Super Walleye Fishing on Bull Shoals Lake

Crystal Clear Waters and Plentiful Fish

Bull Shoals Lake is the perfect place to go fishing and you will catch many walleye if you try out these techniques.

On Bull Shoals Lake you will enjoy fishing in clear blue waters and bringing in some great tasting walleye. Here are some tips to use when you head out on your next fishing trip to Bull Shoals Lake.

Conditions in the area can change rather quickly, so come prepared with different gear. You will want to bring light as well as a medium action combination. Make sure you are well prepared to use many different techniques if the fish are not biting like you want them to. It's always good to know a few different ways to approach the fish if you can't use your skills here with success you can always test them somewhere else. This lake has the ability to move upwards and downwards more than 60 feet. This aspect most definitely changes the way the fish behave in terms of their bite. Finding the fish by following trends, the weather and the advice of others or on your own is the most important part.

You will want to use the gear and techniques that are most often successful at bringing in the Walleye. Here are some of them:

You will need to carry with you bottom bouncing spinners that include the crawlers and cranks.

Trying jigging in a few spots to see what turns up.

Trolling crankbaits can be a very effective method to catching more walleyes on Bull Shoals.

You can fish around banks with suspendable stick baits, swimbaits, and wakebaits.

You can also test out your slipbobbering skills.

Try your drifting and working crawlers, minnows which are placed on Carolina rigs or try splitshotting.

These are all techniques that work well in certain situations. There are no weed beds to be found in this lake. Keep in mind that the conditions are variable and you will be adjusting your techniques according to the wind, weather and the current of the moment. The dam is used for flood control purposes and will either turn on or off at any given moment which is dependent on the downstream conditions. You will learn what to fish with here as you go through your list of techniques.

Enjoy fishing on the vast Bull Shoals Lake. This lake is in a beautiful area and will bring you much enjoyment as you try out your Walleye fishing techniques. Pay attention to which equipment works the best and don't be afraid to change things up when necessary. You will eventually find some way to lure a walleye. Maybe the next one will be the trophy fish you have always been waiting to catch.

Walleye Fishing Secrets Student Shares an Awesome Catch

"Andrew,

Here's a 25 inch walleye caught at Lake of the Woods, Ontario. The picture is a great memento for me.

I caught it drifting. We caught it amongst some smaller ones that ended up on the dinner table.

Your advice was helpful in making my trip successful. Thank you!"
